JV Ages
8-10
JV's will learn the
basic skills of snowboarding and are introduced to
halfpipe and gates. The program features a large
amount of free riding and fun with the coach while
developing independence. A weekend Race Series and
Halfpipe Competition at Bromley for JV's and JIV's
will be implemented to expose young racers to the
elements of competition in a less stressful
environment.
JV Ages 11-12
JIV's will be introduced
to a higher level of racing and halfpipe techniques
while maintaining an emphasis on directed free
riding. This age group will also participate in the
Bromley Race Series, but also have the option to
travel to sanctioned competitions at other ski
areas. A schedule will be provided for those racers
that may be interested.
JIII Ages 13-14
The JIII level
emphasizes snowboard racing techniques in slalom,
giant slalom and more acrobatic maneuvers in the
halfpipe. JIII's compete 8-10 times a season in
the New England Snowboard Series and USASA
competitions.
JII and JI Ages 15-19
The JI and JII level
emphasizes continued improvement of snowboard racing
techniques in slalom, giant slalom and acrobatic
maneuvers in the halfpipe. This level athlete may
compete extensively on the NESA and USASA circuit.
Competing at the U.S. Nationals is possible.
