The Junior Instructional Snowsports
Program (JISP) was started in 1951 to give local
school children an inexpensive way to learn to ski.
Today the Bromley Outing Club teaches over 600 local
students per week to ski and snowboard. The program
also offers one-on-one classes for special needs
athletes.
Local town coordinators make sure that the students
have transportation to Bromley Mountain. If they do
not have equipment they can rent equipment for the
season for a nominal fee ($70 for the
season) from the Bromley Rental Shop.
Classes are divided according to their ability and
are taught by volunteer instructors who are trained
by the BOC coaching staff.
The BOC offers classes in beginner skiing and
snowboarding through racing, freestyle and snowboard
competitions for all levels of students.
The cost of this program is $85 for ten days of
lessons throughout the season. There are numerous
Sunday afternoons that the students can ski or ride
at Bromley on their JISP pass and two exchange days
at Stratton.
